Feelin' a bit patchy?

Thursday 5 August
Gotta patch em all!

I bet you’ve got a tube or two (or 10!) laying around that’s waiting to be useful again.

Why patch? Save your tube from going to landfill, give it another lease on life! A tube can be patched indefinitely (or until a patch doesn’t hold, whichever comes first). Thanks to Covid and Brexit there are random bike part shortages happening, so this is a great time to be frugal. Patches are way cheaper than a new tube!

So let’s learn how to patch properly by patching together.

You will need:
  • puncture repair kit (rubber solution, patches, sandpaper) [buy one here if you don’t have one]
  • pump
  • a can-do attitude
  • a stable internet connection + camera + mic

Your camera will be on, your mic will be off.

At the beginning of our sesh I will go over:
  • What types of punctures can and cannot be patched (show me your holes!)
  • What tools you’ll need

Then we’ll patch together! Ask me questions, ask your fellow patchers questions - how did you get your puncture? How to avoid that in the future? That’s what our lil support group is for. You don’t have to learn alone!

Hex Club is more than just learning, it’s about camaraderie and forming good habits. Let’s make maintenance fun 😄

Can't join at 7? No problemo, you'll still get a link of the recording sent to you the next day, available to watch till the next class. (We have to make room on Zoom to download videos.)

1) you register and pay (the extra 1 pence is so we can easily tell if a purchase is a class or merch to send out)

2) we will send you a link to join the webinar the night before at 10pm

3) make sure you download Zoom to your laptop or phone

4) click the link at the time of your class

Turns out teaching online is not enough to revolutionize home DIY bike maintenance - we gotta walk you through it together. Enter the summer of the FIX-A-LONG - small weekly group sessions where you work on your bike together with the instructor and fellow students. Your camera & mic will be on, and we will be learning new maintenance skills and creating good habits. Let's fix together!
